Esteemed members of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
esteemed sympathizers and supporters,
dear friends,
allow me to hereby express my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the leading party of the Croat people in BiH.
As one big family, today we jointly remember August 18, 1990, when, under difficult conditions, the Founding Assembly of our political family was held. It was with this act that the leading party was established, the party that would, in the coming decades, defend the rights of Croats and the role of our people as an inevitable stakeholder in all of the processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
What started as a movement of independent political will in difficult and divisive times at the end of the 20th century grew into the strongest and most organized political organization of the Croat people. Therefore, today, dear friends, we especially remember all Croat veterans whose sacrifice made it possible to talk about Croats as a state-forming and constitutionally equal people.
As we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the founding of HDZ of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I am convinced that in the future, as in the past, we will readily respond to all of the challenges we face, leading not only the Croat but also pro-European politics, which has always been the backbone of our work. On this path, we will continue to protect the peace, stability and security of BiH as well as build its European and Euro-Atlantic future.
To all of you, dear members, who contribute every day to the protection of the rights of the Croat people, the building of European Bosnia and Herzegovina and the strengthening of our family, I hereby express deep gratitude and encourage you to continue to act even more courageously in the future, always guided by our fundamental values.
On this path, may we never forget the suffering, blood and pain of Croats eternally woven into the defense and building of the modern Bosnia and Herzegovina, and may we never, dear friends, lose the unity of our Croat people in the peace we enjoy today.
Marking this date, I once again congratulate you from the bottom of my heart on the 34th birthday of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All the best!
